Chief Executive Officer, Definitysm Health
As CEO of Definitysm Health, a UnitedHealth Group® company and pioneer in
consumer-driven health care, Mike is responsible for leading the focus
on building a better health care experience for consumers and the employers
that provide their benefits. Since joining Definity in 2000, Mike has
also overseen the company’s customer service functions and led development
efforts focused on encouraging and enabling individuals to be capable,
confident consumers in the health care marketplace. These activation
services, such as personally relevant messaging and consumer-friendly
Health Statements, are designed to help individuals more easily manage
their health care, enjoy better health care outcomes and make the most
of their health care dollars.
Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Mike was employed by American Express, where
he helped launch the company's new online brokerage. He also held various business
development, operations and service management roles for the financial advisors
and card units of American Express, and has financial services experience with
Norwest Bank and as a consultant.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Macalester College, and a Master’s
Degree in Business Administration from Cornell University. He is based in St.
Louis Park, Minn.
